As Director of Tax Technology at MASSIE, John plays a pivotal role in revolutionizing the approach to R&D tax credits. He specializes in providing clients with innovative and forward-thinking technology solutions for their R&D tax credit claims, streamlining what is often a complex and cumbersome process. John has a unique blend of expertise, with a solid foundation in tax accounting complemented by his proficiency and enthusiasm for technology. His background extends across multiple industries, including manufacturing, software, food and beverage, and life sciences. John is adept at assisting both public and private companies in maximizing federal and state R&D credit calculations, identifying eligible research activities, and conducting detailed cost analyses.

John’s professional journey began after completing a B.B.A. in Accounting at Georgia State University, followed by a M.S. in Taxation. His early career took shape at PwC and later at EY, where he honed his skills in R&D tax credits, fixed assets, and accounting methods studies, working with diverse industries.

Having emigrated from Vietnam to the United States at age eight, John has been a resident of the Atlanta suburbs for over twenty years. Outside work, he cherishes time spent with his wife and their two kids, enjoys playing board games, and keeps active with volleyball and tennis.
